a squirrels dream...

Behind my house the ground is covered in acorns. Crunching underneath my shoes... reminding me that autumn is just around the corner.

Oh boy:)! I hope Totoro does live just behind my backyard.... I got to ask the kids ('cause, you know, adults can't see him)...

Totoro remains our favourite and our best.
I did like the older translation into english better (before Disney revoiced it for dvd)... but it's still solid gold!!!

I just found your blog tonight...then scoped out your website and how bizarre! Someone so fabulous living in the good old 613!! :D

I will have to keep my eyes on this. I wonder if you've ever offered any of your work on fabric? I'm constantly searching for really fun fabrics to craft with.

Thanks for sharing so many gorgeous images!

Thanks guys!
I'm sorry I've been such a poor blogger... but I fell into the rabbit hole of work and I'm not sure when I'll be able to climb out.
See you soon:)

Hi Helen!
I was thinking of you and acorns today....We had collected a bunch of acorns (while you were in San Francisco...) and brought them back home in the car. I brought them into the house and transferred them to a plastic box. They were just sitting there, and Mr. T asked about planting one. He handed it to me and there was a little circular hole in it. I said I didn't think that one would grow because something had eaten it. He started looking at the others and found that almost all of them had those little holes....then he said, "And some of the acorns are small and white!" Lo and behold, the box had a bunch of MAGGOTS in the bottom. There must have been eggs laid inside those innocent-looking acorns. Ugh! I've been wondering how THOSE would look incorporated into a nice design...acorn, oak leaf, maggot, acorn with a hole....:D
Good thing we didn't leave them in the car. Good thing we noticed before the maggots grew wings!! They're out on the porch now....
